Brand: Maxxis, Width: 15, Width: 5 | Triumph Dolomite 1972 to 1980
Small family saloon with 1300, 1500 and 1850 engines. Built from 1972 to 1980. Originally fitted with a 155SR13 radial tyre, with the option of a 175/70R13 on a wider wheel.
The Triumph Dolomite arrived in 1972, as a development of the Toledo which had been launched in 1970. Both were compact rear-wheel drive saloons but the Toledo came only in 1300 and 1500 forms; the Dolomite was initially offered solely with an 1854cc engine.
By 1973 the legendary Triumph Dolomite Sprint was on sale, featuring the world's first production engine with four valves per cylinder. With a 127bhp available from its 1998cc powerplant the Dolomite Sprint was a truly sporting compact saloon that blazed a trail for British Leyland.
In 1976 the Toledo 1300 and 1500 were dropped and the Dolomite range was expanded to encompass 1300 and 1500 editions. Production lasted until 1980 when the final Dolomites were built, with total production running to around 177,000 examples.
