Brand: Dunlop, Profile: 80, Width: 165/80 | Reliant GT Coupe (SE4, SE4a, SE4b, SE4c) 1964 to 1970
Attractive and modern coupe design that sowed the seeds for the GTE. All models fit a 165R15 size radial. Initially with a lower speed rating, but it's best to fit an 'H' rated tyre as specified for the later cars. The smaller engined SE4c was originally fitted with a no-longer available 695-15 crossply, but the 165R15 can be fitted instead (it was an option anyway).
Reliant snapped up the rights to Ogle Design's 1962 showcar, and used it to rebody the Sabre Six's mechanicals in a new chassis. The original straight-six models set the template for what was a quite luxurious sportscar. It was later re-engined with Ford's new Essex V6, in both 3-Litre and 2.5-Litre forms.
The Coupe sold well, and inspired Reliant to rather adventurous developments in the world of sporting cars! Many surviving examples can be seen hillclimbing in the UK, as it has a popular following.
