Price: £0.00 - £19.99, Price: £30.00 and above, Width: 5, Width: 16 | Ford Capri Mk2 (not 3 litre) 1974 to 1977

Second iteration of Ford's iconic coupe, in 1300, 1600 and 2000 engine sizes. Manufactured between 1974 and 1977. Originally fitted with a 165SR13, with the option of a 185/70HR13 tyre on a wider wheel.

For years the forgotten Ford Capri was the Mk2, as everyone clamoured for the first of the breed, or the last (the Mk3). Which was rather a shame, as the Capri Mk2 offered far greater practicality than its predecessor thanks to its hatchback configuration and its folding rear seats.

The Capri Mk2 was launched in February 1974, five years after the original (booted) Capri had gone on sale. As with the previous Capri, buyers could choose from 1.3, 1.6, 2.0 and 3.0-litre engines, the last one being Ford's Essex V6.

Having laid the groundwork with the Capri Mk1, Ford had found a winning formula with which it stuck until the final Capri Mk2 was made in March 1978, at which point the Capri Mk3 took over. Along the way there were a few tweaks to the range, including the introduction of the Capri S limited edition in February 1975, while the Capri XL replaced the GL in September 1975. Until October 1976 the Capri was also built at Halewood, but from this point on all Capris would be made in Germany.
