Ford Cortina Mk4 & Mk5 1976 to 1982

The Cortina grows up! Standard tyre was a 165SR13, with the option of a 185/70SR13 (commonly on a wider 5.5J wheel).

When Ford came to replace the immensely successful Mk3 Cortina, they obviously decided that the playful, excessive 70s were over. Gone were the curves, chrome, coke-bottle hip flares and purple paint. Instead, the design language was angular and boxy, much like the new Escort, and the Granada and Fiesta. It was obviously on the money though, as these Cortinas outsold their predecessor handsomely. Intelligently aimed at the company car market, with a wealth of trim levels and options, these things were absolutely everywhere you looked in the late 70s and early 80s. Differences between the Mk4 and Mk5 aren't huge, the later car was more of a facelift than a new model.
