Daimler Conquest Century & Roadster 1953 to 1957
The Conquest was a Daimler version of a Lanchester, with more power, performance and luxury, which made it a perfectly acceptable prestige saloon. Not exciting though. The Century drophead had a bit more power, and the Roadster put that extra power into a more rakish body. Neither were quite pretty enough to compete with Jaguar's XKs though; however, they look better, and more charming, in life rather than in photos - and the sideways rear-seat is interesting!
Conquest Saloons and Century DHC were fitted with 650-15 or 670-15 crossply tyres. A 185R15 could be fitted if a radial upgrade is required.
Conquest Roadsters had 600-15 or 640-15 crossply tyres. A 185R15 could be fitted if a radial upgrade is required.
