New styling, but the same quality. Bristol's 412 convertible was fitted with a 205VR15 tyre. The later Beaufighter had a 225/70VR15.
When it finally came time to change the Bristol styling that had (mostly) been in use since the late 50s, there was a change of concept. There was to be a targa-roofed convertible styled by Zagato (the 412), and large coupe (603). The 412 was very squared-off in design, divisive, and carried over the 411's V8 and underpinnings. Still very high-quality, still with a great reputation, it sold well-enough to keep Bristol going. The Beaufighter brought turbocharging to the convertible model - and performance to bother a Bentley!
