5-Series (E12 model)
BMW 5-Series (E12 model)
BMW's 1972 replacement for the highly successful Neue Classe saloon range (alongside the slightly later 3-series), the 5-series set the template for the company's range structure for many years. Large, stylish, and technically advanced, the 5-series developed into a powerful saloon as BMW's 6-cylinder engine range expanded, with the M535i creating a template for the M cars of the future.
