Firestone 64mm Whitewall 560-13
Firestone is one of America’s oldest tyre manufacturers, producing tyres for the pioneers of US car design. From the earliest smooth pneumatic tyres, through the development of tread patterns and new construction methods, Firestone has grown into a company producing a huge variety of tyres. Its involvement in motorsport is legendary, with 60 wins of the Indianapolis 500 to its name. It also still produces many of its most iconic tyres from many eras of motoring.
Firestone’s Deluxe Champion tyre designs are from the glory-days of American motoring style. From the 1950s to the 70s styling was the cornerstone of US car design, and the tyre industry responded with more extravagant patterns and sidewalls. These tyres are made in original moulds, and have a variety of tread and shoulder designs, all to suit the cars they are fitted to, and they are available as either blackwall or whitewalls. These whitewalls have varying thicknesses depending on the tyre size.
This 560-13 Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall crossply tyre has a whitewall thickness of 2.5/64mm inches (ideal for late 1940s and 1950s cars), a traditional Firestone twisted-rope tread pattern and a classic squared-off upper sidewall edge. It is a suitable fitment for: Austin A30/A35 Countryman; Ford Anglia Estate, Cortina Mk1 Super and GT, Cortina Mk2 1600; Sunbeam Alpine Mk1; Triumph Vitesse; Singer Gazelle and Vogue; Standard 10 and Pennant; Vauxhall Victor.
*PLEASE NOTE* White wall tyres sometimes come with a protective blue paint on the white rubber. After fitting the tyres on the vehicle, this can be cleaned off using hot soapy water and a sponge or brush. This is also a good way of cleaning the white rubber.
