Vintage Tyres is the world's largest supplier of original-equipment tyres for enthusiast vehicles from the dawn of motoring to the early Nineties.
Vintage Tyres was formed in 1962 to maintain the supply of Dunlop tyres. Today we stock more than 20,000 tyres from a dozen brands including Dunlop, Avon, Michelin, BF Goodrich and Vredestein. We have also developed our own brands: Ensign and Waymaster. These brands evoke great tread patterns from the past in crossply and beaded-edge and come in a wide variety of sizes.
Vintage Tyres has been responsible for bringing more than 30 historic tyres back into production. These include the dynamic Dunlop Aquajet — original-equipment on the E-type, and the rugged SP44 Weathermaster — a favourite among adventurous Mini and Moke owners.
Enthusiasm to keep older vehicles on the road was one of the key reasons Vintage Tyres was set up. That same enthusiasm, and the expertise gained through five decades in the business, means that Vintage Tyres is ideally placed to meet your tyre needs today.
Ben is Vintage Tyres' MD. A former motoring journalist and car restorer with 25 years in the classic car industry, Ben is a fan of fast, light cars and slow, heavy motorbikes. No surprise then that his garage contains a supercharged MG Midget and a BMW R65.
Andy has been at Vintage Tyres since 1991. A serial Kawasaki restorer, and former stores manager in a motorcycle dealership, he's our font of motorcycle tyre-and-tube knowledge. He drives a moon-and-back mileage VW Camper and, occasionally, a Kawasaki A1 Samurai 250.
After 25 years as Vintage Tyres' MD, Chris now works as our technical director. This leaves him a little more time to look after a small collection of Fords, and a large collection of motorbikes. These include a BSA Shooting Star and a Suzuki GT750 'Kettle.'
Business Development Manager
David's our business development manager and American car, custom and hot-rod obsessive. He imported his 'Rat-Stang' (a matte-black Mustang coupe) to the UK back in 2014, and it regularly rumbles in to Vintage Tyres to cries of 'when you gonna paint it, Dave?'
Maria has been working for Vintage Tyres since 2007 and was recruited from the National Motor Museum next door to make our office run at maximum efficiency. Maria is planning to buy an Aston Martin DB7, although she is rather fond of this Blower Bentley too...
Normandy native Muriel is our export sales expert. She's been with Vintage Tyres since 2008 and drives a Series II Lotus 7 called Hazel (after Colin Chapman's wife). Muriel is also fond of Minis and dreams of an Aston Martin Ulster.
Neil has been at Vintage Tyres for 25 years and in that time he's done everything from tyre fitting to trackside race support. These days he's our general manager, he masterminds our tyre ordering and is the go-to guru on availability and sizing. Neil rides a Suzuki Bandit and is fond of Sixties Jaguars and Aston Martins.
Warehouse manager Paul looks after deliveries, stock levels and fitting appointments. Another Ford fan, he runs a Capri 2.8i and is in the process of building a hot Mk I Fiesta. Paul also likes two-wheeled transport (as long as it wears a Lambretta badge) and enjoys watching touring car racing.
Online & Design Chief
Richard has owned a Porsche 911, Lotus Esprit and a Lancia Fulvia, selling them, alas, long before they became really valuable. He is doggedly hanging onto his Porsche 924 in the hope that it too will eventually rocket in value. Richard's our website and eBay expert and a talented motoring artist.
Tyre Fitting & Warehouse Operations
Scott works in our warehouse, where he can be found picking, packing, fitting and balancing. A big fan of Ford, Scott drives a Mk I Escort and spends an inordinate amount of time in his shed building Blue Oval-based 'special projects.'
